Mom called early Saturday morning and asked me to take her to the shoe store so that she could get some new kicks.  Her feet have grown a bit this year because of some trouble she's had with them so she can't fit into what she had.  But, let's face it, does a woman really need an excuse to buy new shoes?  Nope.  So she ended up with two new pairs.  She really wanted some red ones but they didn't have any in the style she chose.  She's 85 and still wants red shoes.  Gotta love that.

I found a pair of boots that I liked.  But there's no way I'm paying $450 for a pair of boots.  It'd be like spending tens of thousands of dollars on a wedding dress.  I didn't even cry when I put them on.

It's pouring buckets here.  Sigh.

I'm with you on the $450 boots, Holliday. I'm glad you didn't cry when you tried them on. But you know when you try those super expensive things on, they do usually feel mighty nice. I'd never feel comfortable wearing them, though, just knowing how much they cost.
