Quitting takes practice

So AD, CGJ and JC convinced me to try this again when we were at convention.  Mostly it was AD though when we got back.  She asked when I would start my blog again.  I told her when she stopped letting me vent to her through IM.  I got the hairy eyeball for that comment (and several other little "smilies" to boot).  I also got the message so here I am!

Convention was great.  I met some wonderful people and made new friends which is always a plus in a body's life.  I was trying to think what the best part was and I believe it was when the 9 of us realized that we were friends and not just people we know from BW.  It was the night at Stateline Brewery when we had dinner together.  But I have to say that BZ church was one of my favorite times.  I thought I was going to burst from laughing so much.  AD missed it but she's the reason it turned into church.  Ya see, when you miss a church meeting, you get volunteered for stuff.  AD - I sure hope you're working on getting us Carradine for the reunion.

I took off two weeks together for vacation.  I've never done that before and I swear I'm going to do it every year now if I can.  I was really able to leave work behind and relax.  The feeling has even lasted longer than I expected.  No wonder the Europeans take 3-4 weeks off in a row.  It's awesome!  I did come back with a bit of a bug though and unfortunately for me the cure plus the new healthy diet I was put on made things worse.  The meds I got wreaked havoc with insides and then I got entangled with a bit of food poisoning so that my whole GI tract could rebel.  On the plus side I lost some poundage.  Not the best way to do it of course but it's done so there ya go.

My kitty is better (she tore her ACL two days before we went to Tahoe).  We've had to keep her quiet and crated since then although, she's broken out a few times.  It kills me to hear her crying "let me out!"  "you hate me!"  "I promise I'll be good!"  "I'm so sad!" (yes, I speak cat).  I swear she thinks we're punishing her instead of taking care of her.  It's enough to break your heart but when it comes to being Momma, I've gotta be tough.  Chef is the permissive marshmallow and that's ok.  I've got to get her to the vet and see how much longer we have to keep this up.  The doc originally said 6-8 weeks and it's barely 4.  OMG - it's barely 4...

Well, I'm signing off on this post or I'll have nothing to write about tomorrow.  I'm back.

Welcome back, Holliday. I hope everyone noticed how I studiously did NOT hound you about your blog. I've sworn that off forever.
