  • Escaping from: pollen I hope

I am feeling a bit better today - thanks for checking in AD and CC.

I didn't go into work but I did go out and buy an air purifier to see if I could help rid the house of some of the pollen that's been blowing in all week.  I do prefer fresh air but apparently I should have been using AC instead of open windows.  Of course, this would have been easier to do if they were already installed in the windows.  Oops.  Anyway, I had the purifier on for a couple of hours and began to breathe better.  Now whether it's all the meds, or the new device or a combination I couldn't say but it's still running because, why take a chance?

My house is quite warm though at 82 degrees.  I had to pick one devil to live with.  Pollen blowing in or a hot house.  BTW, for anyone who doesn't know, pharmacists are really quite good at helping you figure out what drugs to take and how often for maximum benefit.  Much better than doctors really.

So I've sent for GW's book from the newspaper who published it to begin with.  The customer service folk are very helpful.  I expect it should arrive in a week or so.  In the meantime, I've got two other books to get through.  One is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon.  Bette from BW recommended it.  It's the first in a series that is supposed to just suck you right in.  The other is a new book (can't remember the name of it) by the same man who wrote Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil.  I can only hope that this one is as good.

I'm looking for another college to finish my degree. Unfortunately, I think I may be stuck with the current one as I can't find another with classes to suit me.  I think more research is in the offing.

I got my reading glasses last week.  They look, fit and work well but whenever I look up, people are very blurry.  Don't you dare mention the B word!  I'm far too young to consider it.

1 Make something up.

Outlander is okay...I've read it twice, the second time because I thought maybe I missed something the first time and that's why I didn't love it as much as the rest of the world. But I didn't love it the second time either. I tried to give book #2 a shot, but quit reading after about 50 pages. Though Jamie is supposed to be the ultimate romance hero, it just didn't work for me. The whole book is a bit too raw for my taste. I guess I prefer a little lighter reading. Who knows, you'll probably love it.
