People just don't listen

  • Mood:
  • Escaping from: vendors

You'd think if someone was trying to sell you something they'd maybe listen to what you're asking for.  Especially when they ask you 7 times and you tell them 8.  And, you'd also think that if they wanted a big contract from your company, they'd send someone who was prepared and knew the product.

I feel like this week with vendors has been a waste of time.  I hate wasting my time.

And, I'm curious... do you just assume that you can take time away from work without checking with your boss first?   I'm so surprised at people that think it's alright to do this.  Especially when you are new.  Good grief!

2 Make something up.

There is nothing worse than someone trying to sell you something and they can't answer every possible question you might have regarding the product. That is what you are supposed to know as a salesman. I am sorry that your time was wasted this week. Time is too precious, even in professional terms.

OMG, are you soooo right about people taking off without making sure it is ok with the boss first! It is only showing respect at the very least! It never ceases to amaze me today at the selfishness of people and what they think is acceptable practices. Being a "boss" myself, I see this daily and I get so riled over it, however, when I have to administer discipline, I sleep at night knowing they did it to their own selfish butts.

I don't have to clear my time off with my boss. As long as my work gets done, he doesn't care if I hit the road.
